A very common problem on the VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne is that the electronic steering lock fails and you are unable to start the car due to this failure.

If a diagnostic test is done it will generally throw a P00288 fault code :

00288 - Steering Column Lock Actuator (N360): Defective

Bu fitting this emulator, you will never have this problem again since the emulator tricks the car into thinking that the steering lock is working fine. There are not moving parts nay longer and therefore you won't have the problem reoccurring again.

Your car will not show the fault code again because this emulator works seamlessly and perfectly in-place of the original steering lock.

This is NOT PLUG & PLAY

You are required to move over the main CPU chip from the original steering lock PC Board to the new Emulator board. Also you need to move over the main connector plug to the emulator. Since you are using the original MCU there is NO CODING required.

There is a small rubber plug included which assist it keeping the steering lock mechanism in the open direction so it does accidentally lock while driving.
